Information You Submit
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered in a search form are sent to the separate provider that operates the search result experience. Our servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most hosted services, the site may receive routine server-log information such as an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We review that information in aggregated form to maintain the service and understand general use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where used.
How Information Is Used
The limited information described here is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the service, or to answer a message. We do not sell visitor lists or build individual visitor profiles from routine site activity.
External Websites
Links may lead to Union County, North Carolina, library, archive, postal, and sponsored-search resources. Their terms and privacy practices govern information submitted after leaving this site. In particular, a search provider receives the data entered into its own form, not a record request submitted to a government custodian.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting, analytics, and support providers may process the routine technical data needed to provide their service. We disclose information when required by valid legal process and otherwise only as needed for the purposes stated in this policy.
Safeguards and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for the operational and security purposes described above. Because no visitor account is offered, the site does not maintain a visitor password or member profile.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us so it can be removed from the contact record.
Your Requests and Public Records
Ask through the Contact page to access, correct, or delete personal information that we hold in a message or operational record, subject to applicable law. North Carolina does not have a general consumer privacy law that supplies a broad directory-data deletion right. Session Law 2025-79 is a narrow protection for specified nonprofit-held membership, supporter, volunteer, and donor information in public-agency records, not a general consumer privacy law.
Government records are outside our control. Under G.S. 132-6, public records may be inspected and copied at reasonable times, subject to confidentiality laws. G.S. 132-6.2 addresses available media, written database requests, actual-cost copying, and the fact that an agency need not create a new record. Direct public-record changes or removal requests to the actual custodian.
Policy Changes
We may revise this policy by posting an updated version here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the posted policy.
